The last software update for the original Google Pixel Watch update is now being sent out. This patch from October 2025 ends three years of official support that began when the device came out in 2022.
Owners of the first-generation watch will get small security and bug fixes, but not the upgrade to Wear OS 6. The update, which has the version number BW1A.251005.003.W1, is now being sent out and should reach all devices in the coming days.
This final update marks the final release for Google’s initial wearable. When the company first launched, it promised to give updates for at least three years. This promise ends this month.
Google could always surprise users with an extra security patch, but there are no plans for any more Pixel Watch update. This means that owners won’t get any new features or security updates after this point.

Pixel Watch Update guide: Comparing your Pixel Watch options
This last Pixel Watch update is a sign for people who own the first Pixel Watch to think about getting a new one. If you don’t update the software, your watch will still work but be less secure and miss new features.
The newer Pixel Watch models got a bigger update in October that added Wear OS 6. The table below shows how all of the Pixel Watch models stack up for future updates.
| Watch Model | End of Update Support |
|---|---|
| Pixel Watch 1 | October 2025 |
| Pixel Watch 2 | October 2026 |
| Pixel Watch 3 | October 2027 |
| Pixel Watch 4 | October 2028 |
The new Pixel Watch 4 makes some big improvements over the old one, so if you’re considering getting a new watch, you should check it out. It has a much brighter screen, a new quick-charging dock, and dual-frequency GPS for better location accuracy.
It also adds emergency satellite messaging, which lets you get in touch with help even if you don’t have a cell phone signal. The Pixel Watch 3 is still a fantastic deal, especially if you can find it on sale.
To see if your original Pixel Watch update has the most recent update, go to Settings > System > System updates on the watch itself. This last installation keeps your watch safe and working while you think about what to do next.
