Spotify now lets users buy physical books right in the app, thanks to a partnership with Bookshop.org. With this update, Spotify becomes a single place to find stories in both audio and print. This feature is now available for Android users in the US and UK, and iOS support will be added next week. When you browse an audiobook, you will see a simple “Get a copy for your bookshelf” link. Clicking it takes you to Bookshop.org, where you can finish your purchase and arrange shipping.

Spotify has started selling books as it expands its focus on audiobooks, which it first launched in 2022. Premium subscribers get 15 hours of free audiobook listening each month. Spotify says the new sales feature is for people who still like reading physical books. When you buy a book, you also support independent bookstores and authors through Bookshop.org, an online marketplace that helps local shops compete.

The rollout builds on earlier updates announced in February 2026. Spotify’s Page Match tool lets users sync progress between audiobooks and physical or e-book versions. Readers can scan a page with their phone camera to pick up exactly where they left off in another format. The company has now expanded Page Match to support more than 30 new languages, including French, German, and Swedish.

Additional improvements include Audiobook Recaps, short AI-powered summaries available on Android that refresh listeners on their progress after the 10-minute mark in a book. These features, combined with the new book sales option, create a smoother experience for switching between listening and reading.

According to reports from The Verge and TechCrunch, the partnership positions the application as more than just a streaming service, connecting digital discovery with physical ownership while giving back to indie booksellers. Bookshop.org manages pricing, inventory, and fulfillment, ensuring a straightforward process for buyers. This development comes as Spotify continues to expand its audiobook offerings, making the platform more appealing for readers who enjoy stories in multiple ways.

In summary, Spotify strengthens its position in the books space by adding easy access to physical copies alongside its audio features. The integration offers convenience and supports local bookstores, giving users more flexible ways to enjoy their favorite titles.
