Fans of Assassin’s Creed are eagerly waiting for the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but they have recently learned that Ubisoft will instead be adding new content to its previous game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The studio announced this on the official Assassin’s Creed X social media account. Fans can look forward to a new chapter in the story and more missions with the main character, Basim.
Basim will go on an adventure in AlUla in the ninth century in this new content. One of the most exciting things about this news is that the DLC will be free for everyone.
Ubisoft also said that the base game and the new DLC will both have better gameplay. People know that Assassin’s Creed Mirage goes back to the series’ original focus on open-world exploration and stealth combat. The updates will make these basic parts even better.

Les Echos had previously reported that Ubisoft collaborated with Savvy Games Group to create additional content for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This news comes after that. The Saudi Arabian government backs Savvy Games Group, a gaming and esports company. This announcement reveals a fascinating collaboration taking place in the background.
The upcoming DLC also fits with what Ubisoft developer Stephane Boudon, who worked on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, said during a Reddit AMA shortly after the game came out in October 2023.
During During that session, Boudon stated that the original intention of the game was for it to stand alone without any DLC; however, he also mentioned plans for future expansions and that the team brainstormed additional ideas for expanding Basim’s story. Ubisoft hasn’t given a specific date for the DLC’s release, but they did say it would come out later this year.
Microsoft just updated the Xbox Game Pass library for August, and players can now play Assassin’s Creed Mirage as part of it. This change keeps the game’s community interested as they wait for the new free content that will add to Basim’s story in the beautiful and historic world of AlUla.
