Apple has planned to show off the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, at a keynote event where the company will also show off other new products.
Apple is also likely to release two updated Apple Watch models and maybe a new version of the AirPods Pro at the same time as the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro.
The expected release of iOS 26 is a big change to this year’s schedule. The rollout of iOS 26 had not gotten much attention, in contrast to earlier discussions that were mostly about the keynote and sales dates.
The iPhone 17 series will come with the new operating system already installed, but it will also work with iPhones from as far back as 2011.
Mark Gurman says that the iOS 26 developer beta is working well and responding quickly, which means that the final public release is coming soon. It should be out around the middle of September, most likely on Monday or Tuesday the 15th or 16th, the same time as last year with iOS 18.
The official launch date for the iPhone 17 includes the September 9 keynote at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. On Friday, September 12, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, pre-orders should begin.
The first reviews of the gadgets are likely to come out between September 16 and 17. The official day to buy the iPhone 17 series will probably be Friday, September 19, at 7 a.m. in your area.

It’s likely that people in Australia and New Zealand will get their new iPhones first, with people in other places, like Europe and the US, close behind.
Apple experts think that the early teaser invitations to the event that have been going around are probably fakes because Apple has always been very precise and careful with these kinds of messages.
This full release schedule makes it clear what to expect in the next few weeks as Apple gets ready to announce its big fall products. According to Apple, this schedule will be changed as more information becomes available.
