Snapchat has started rolling out sponsored AI Agents that let users talk directly with brands inside the Chat tab. These AI Agents appear as interactive chatbots, and the first partner is Experian, the credit reporting company. Unlike traditional ads, these AI Agents allow users to ask questions and get real-time answers. According to Snapchat’s announcement, users who receive an AI-sponsored snap can ask the bot about saving money, improving credit scores, or learning about loans and credit cards. The bot provides general financial information, not personalized advice.

Snapchat says more than half a billion people have messaged its My AI chatbot since its introduction. In the first quarter of 2026, users sent over 950 billion chats, and 85% of Snapchat users use the Chat feed regularly. Engadget also reports that the company’s Sponsored Snaps, which do not use AI, lead to 22% more conversions and a 19% lower cost per action than other ad formats.

Each AI-sponsored Snap includes a light gray” Ad” label next to the brand name. Users can type their own questions or choose from preset prompts. Brands can bring their own AI Agents to guide users from discovery to purchase inside a single chat. Snapchat’s Chief Business Officer, Ajit Mohan, said in a press release that conversation is becoming the most valuable real estate in advertising.

Experian’s Head of Integrated Marketing, Steve Hartmann, stated that AI Agents deliver a natural, conversational experience. Users who click into an AI-sponsored Snap can ask follow-up questions, get recommendations, and click out to the advertiser’s site or app to make a purchase. The alpha rollout begins with Experian, with more brands expected to join later.
