Meta is officially building AI agents for both personal use and business customers. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the news during Meta’s first-quarter earnings call, confirming that the company is developing two separate types of AI Agents — one for individuals and another for entrepreneurs and companies.

These AI agents are different from the existing Meta AI assistant. According to Zuckerberg, the goal is to create agents that understand your goals and then work continuously to help you achieve them, not just answer questions. Speaking on the earnings call, he said Meta wants to move beyond a simple assistant and deliver agents that can take action. The personal version will focus on helping people with diverse life goals, while the business version will help entrepreneurs expand their reach, find new customers, and better serve existing ones.

Zuckerberg said both AI agents will be built on Muse Spark, the first AI model from Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Meta released Muse Spark in early April 2026 as a foundation for more advanced reasoning, including text and image analysis and shopping assistance. The personal agent is designed to help with everyday tasks. The business agent is meant for entrepreneurs who use Meta’s tools. Zuckerberg said the business version would help companies use Meta’s platforms and other tools to grow, reach new customers, and better serve existing ones.

Zuckerberg also compared these AI agents to existing products like OpenClaw. He acknowledged that OpenClaw offers an exciting glimpse of what is possible, but he called it “pretty rough” to set up. He added, “There are a lot of agents out there that people are building for different things, and there aren’t that many that I would want to give to my mother.” Meta’s goal is to make a version that is far more polished, easy to use, and with all the infrastructure already done for people.

According to CNET, Zuckerberg sees these AI agents working closely with Meta’s smart glasses. He said, “All of our glasses are designed to update to use our newest AI models and features easily. I’m also really excited to see the glasses evolve from being able to answer questions to being able to be a personal agent that’s with you all day long, helping you remember things and achieve your goals”.

Benefits of Meta’s new AI agents for users:

  • The personal agent supports your health, learning, relationships, and career goals, and it is easy to set up.
  • The business agent helps entrepreneurs find new customers and improve their service on Meta’s platforms.
  • You can use the agent with Ray-Ban Meta glasses for hands-free help throughout the day.
  • The agent runs on Meta’s latest model, Muse Spark, which offers reasoning, shopping tips, and content creation.

Zuckerberg did not share a specific launch date. He said Meta wants to make AI agents easier to use than the current options. He also confirmed that these agents will be available on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

In conclusion, Meta is building AI agents for everyone — from individuals seeking daily help to businesses seeking better customer reach. Based on Zuckerberg’s announcement, these agents will aim to be easier to use and more integrated into daily life than anything available today.
