PayPal has a new cool feature called PayPal Links that is meant to make it easier and faster for people to send money to each other. PayPal Links lets users make personalized, one-time payment links. Unlike the previous PayPal.Me system, which primarily required users to share their profile for payment, PayPal Links allows users to create personalized, one-time payment links.

People can use these links to ask for or send money directly to someone else, without having to look for their account or confirm their profile information. This simplified method cuts out extra steps, making peer-to-peer payments quick and easy.

How PayPal Links Make Sending Money and Crypto Easy: A New Payment Experience

Users only need to open the PayPal app, enter the amount to be paid or the details of the request, and make a unique link. This link is private and only associated with that transaction. It can then be shared in chat rooms, text messages, or conversations where money or payments are talked about.

The link automatically expires after 10 days if it isn’t used, but users can send reminders or cancel the link at any time. If the recipient clicks on the link, they can accept the payment right away or finish the request in the PayPal app, where the money moves right away.

One of the most exciting new features coming to PayPal Links is that it will soon be able to handle cryptocurrencies. People in the U.S. will soon be able to use these payment links to send digital currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal’s own PYUSD stablecoin.

This crypto feature will also work with wallets that support digital assets and stablecoins, such as Venmo. PayPal is always trying to make it easier for people to use digital currencies in normal peer-to-peer transactions. This move is part of their ongoing effort to do this.

PayPal Links that work with cryptocurrencies are currently only available in the US. Soon, they will also be available in the UK, Italy, and other countries. Even though cryptocurrency payments have been added, personal transfers between family and friends are still not subject to 1099-K tax reporting. This means that tax-wise, these transactions are still easy and don’t cause any problems.

Overall, PayPal Links are a new way for people to send and receive money. PayPal is rethinking peer-to-peer payments for a wider audience by combining the ease of a personalized payment link with the ability to handle both regular money and cryptocurrencies.

This change shows that PayPal wants to keep up with how digital payments are changing while also making normal money transfers as easy as possible.
