Samsung’s newest foldable smartphones are being stolen, which is a very bad turn of events. It was reported that a truck carrying thousands of Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 devices, worth more than $10.6 million USD, was stolen near London’s Heathrow Airport. This sent shockwaves through the tech world.
According to reports, the stolen truck had more than 6,000 of Samsung’s newest foldable phones:
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 – Priced at £1,149 in the UK
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 – Priced at £1,799 in the UK
The devices had just gone on sale, with official sales starting on July 25. They were first shown to the world on July 9. People were already very interested in them because of their sleek look, longer durability, and cutting-edge features, which broke pre-order records in several countries.

According to reports, the truck was taken shortly after getting to Heathrow. People think that Samsung is working closely with police to get back the stolen goods, but the exact details of the theft are still not clear.
The company may have already started a blacklisting process that will make the stolen phones useless or unable to connect to official networks.
The stolen goods are probably covered by Samsung’s insurance, which could lessen the financial impact. The logistics of keeping track of, blocking, and possibly re-enabling thousands of devices, on the other hand, are not easy.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 are Samsung’s best foldable phones to date:
- Z Flip 7: Slimmest model to date, with a 6.9-inch main display and a 4.1-inch Flex Window. Marketed as a “pocket-sized selfie studio.”
- Z Fold 7: The world’s thinnest and lightest book-style foldable, featuring a 200MP camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and Galaxy AI integration.
These innovations have made the devices highly desirable—not just to consumers, but apparently to thieves as well.
