Lara Croft has returned. The famous treasure hunter will be back in two big new projects. This is the biggest revival of the Tomb Raider franchise in years. A live-action TV show is also moving forward, along with the video game news. Amazon is leading this triple-threat comeback, aiming to establish Lara Croft as its next major entertainment brand.
The future of Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider
Two new games will lead the Tomb Raider franchise. The first one, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is set for 2026. Developers Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog remade the original 1996 game using new technology. It promises to bring back old enemies, like dinosaurs, for a new group of players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst, set to release in 2027, is the next chapter. Engadget says that this game continues Lara Croft’s story as she travels to Northern India after a mythical disaster. Crystal Dynamics developed the game, and it will be a new adventure where she competes with other treasure hunters. It is still not clear what the official platforms for Catalyst will be.
This gaming revival is part of a bigger movement. Amazon is also making a TV show with Sophie Turner as the famous heroine. Amazon is investing heavily in a big remake, a new story, and a TV show. The Tomb Raider series looks set to be more active and ambitious than it has been in a long time.
