Spotify and Instagram have strengthened their partnership by adding new features that make it easier and more fun to share music across the two platforms. This update is meant to help Spotify’s huge user base of almost 700 million people by giving them more fun ways to share their favorite songs and let their friends know what they’re listening to.
One important change is that you can now share songs as short audio clips right in Instagram Stories. When someone shares a song in their Instagram Story, the post will now show a short clip of the song. People who read the story can tap on the music sticker in the post to go straight to the full song on Spotify. This simplifies the process for friends and followers to listen to the shared song.
The Notes feature on Instagram has also been improved by being linked to Spotify. Users can make a note, then tap the music note icon to select “Share from Spotify” in the audio browser. The note will automatically change to show the song the user is currently listening to once it is connected. The note will change to show the next song that starts playing in the next 30 minutes if the user isn’t playing any music right now.

Friends can easily see which music the user is currently interested in thanks to this dynamic update. People who see the note can also tap it to add the featured track to their Spotify favorites. This functionality makes it easier for people to discover and interact with music together. The Spotify app has also made it easier to share music on Instagram. When users share a song they are currently listening to, a new Instagram Notes icon appears next to other sharing options.
This new icon makes it easier for users to post a song to their Instagram Notes without any extra steps. These new ways to connect Spotify and Instagram are now available worldwide and work on both iOS and Android devices. This makes the improved cross-platform music-sharing experience more accessible to more people. This partnership is another example of how social media and music platforms are increasingly working together to connect people through shared audio experiences.
