TT Games is making an action-adventure video game called Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight that will come out in 2026. Warner Bros. Games will publish it. It is Batman’s first solo Lego console game in more than ten years, and it lets fans explore a huge Lego-built Gotham City.
This version stands out because it has an open-world design that lets players explore Gotham in iconic Batmobiles and Batcycles, glide with the Batglider, or climb buildings with Batman’s grapple launcher.
The game tells a new and ambitious story about the Batman universe that covers the hero’s whole life. Players will learn about Bruce Wayne’s past, starting with his training in the League of Shadows. They will then add allies like Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul to the “Batfamily.”
Batman faces a group of famous DC villains along the way, including The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane. The story cleverly references famous Batman scenes from movies, TV shows, comics, and games that have been around for decades. It mixes serious tones with the classic Lego humor.

One of the best things about this game is its new combat system, which is more based on counters and is similar to the popular Batman Arkham series. Players like smooth attack chains, counters, and dramatic takedowns.
Batman has famous gadgets like Batarangs and Batclaw, and partner characters bring their own special gear and skills, which makes for a variety of combat strategies. The game also has harder difficulty levels for players who want a more difficult experience.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is more than just a level-based game; it lets players explore an open-world Gotham. There are crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, collectibles to find, and secrets to learn about on rooftops and in alleys all over the city. Players can change the Batcave by adding vehicles, trophies, and different Batsuits based on things they’ve seen before.
This game draws on a lot of Batman’s past, including the Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan, The Batman by Matt Reeves, and the Arkham video game series. It also adds the entertaining Lego style that fans love.
The trailer, which was shown at Gamescom 2025, had a more serious tone than other Lego Batman movies. Matt Berry’s voice performance as Bane stood out.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC. It promises to be a fantastic Batman experience for both new and old fans.
This game will be the best Lego Batman story ever, honoring the Caped Crusader’s legacy in a new, big, and exciting way while still keeping the fun and humor of Lego games.
