Samsung has raised the prices of the 512GB and 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 7 models in the U.S. by $80 each, but did not make an official announcement about the change. According to 9to5Google, the change occurred sometime between March and April 2026, with no hardware or feature changes to justify the hike.
The base Galaxy Z Fold 7 with 256GB of storage still costs $1,999.99. Samsung recently raised prices for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in South Korea, increasing the 512GB model from 2.53 million won to 2.63 million won and the 1TB version from 2.93 million won to 3.12 million won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company cited rising memory chip prices and foreign exchange volatility as the primary reasons. A Samsung official told Yonhap that “with prices of key parts rising gradually, it was inevitable to raise prices for some products.”
Implications of the price increase for Galaxy Z Fold 7 buyers

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is already one of the most expensive smartphones on the market, starting at nearly $2,000. The new pricing structure now stands at:
- 256GB: $1,999.99 (unchanged)
- 512GB: $2,199.99 (was $2,119.99, up $80)
- 1TB: $2,499.99 (was $2,419.99, up $80)
Android Central reports that Samsung has changed its approach and is now passing on higher component costs to customers rather than covering them. Right now, the 512GB model is listed at $2,079.99 on Samsung’s U.S. website, which may reflect a temporary sale that hides the true extent of the price increase.
Industry watchers point to a shortage of DDR5 memory and other RAM components as the main driver behind the increases, with similar price adjustments already hitting Motorola’s Moto G lineup and other mid-range devices.

The base 256GB Galaxy Z Fold 7 holds its price for now. Yet analysts caution that persistent memory supply chain problems could soon drive up prices on Samsung’s top phones. Upgrade to more storage, and you’ll pay $80 more—a 3% hike. This uptick is part of the broader surge in flagship phone prices.
In summary, Samsung’s quiet price hike for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 reflects rising memory chip costs that the company can no longer absorb, leaving buyers of the 512GB and 1TB models to pay $80 more for the same hardware.
